Kenmore Oven Door Hinge Adjustment

Turn off the oven breaker in your fuse box.

Kenmore oven door hinge adjustment. Remove the two screws located beside each of the hinges on the bottom of the door using a screwdriver. My kenmore electric oven door has slipped down so that there is about an inch of frame showing at the top of the door. Place the oven door on a flat surface with the hinges pointing up. The use and care guide will have the instructions for removing the door.

The door closes but when the oven is in use it takes a much longer time to cook since some of the heat is escaping the oven. Open the oven door completely. Is there an adjustment to the door hinges that i can make. The oven must be completely cool.

Turn the locknut counterclockwise to increase the amount of distance between the door and the hinge. The oven door will need to be removed from the wall oven and taken apart in order to access and replace the hinges. Push the hinges flat so they are extended and pointing away from the bottom. Screw the screws. One for each side. Rotate the hinge locking tabs back toward the door until they engage the locking notches on the inside of. Sears parts direct.

The door hinges are part 318024748 and you would need to order 2. Open the oven door fully and turn the locknut by hand at the bottom of the keep for adjustments from left to right.
