Jetta Front Door Does Not Lock

If your key fob fails to lock or unlock your car all you need to do is to replace its battery.

Jetta front door does not lock. When i brought it home from the dealer the rear driver door would not lock. On 2006 volkswagen jetta indicator light says front doors are open when they are closed courtesy light in floor board stays on in the latch is hitting the striker bolt it s not closing all the way around the striker bolt if i open the door and push the latch up by hand all the lights go off as if the door was properly closed but of course then you cant close the door can i wrap something around the striker bolt that would make the latch work properly. If the lock slowly started to lose power speed locking and locking or would stop working intermittently and start again the motor actuator is most likely to blame. Front driver s side door won t lock.

If the power locks seem to be working just fine from within the car then you need to replace your key fob battery. If this is a 2006 model jetta wich more then likely this is the case this is the case you have broken wires in the drivers side door harness if you remove the the rubber boot that covers up the door harness right by the door hinge on the drivers door door open you will be able to see that you have broken wires in the harness. Go into your jetta and play around with the power lock switches. When one door has the locking issue it is likely an issue within the door. Be it the switch for that side latch or actuator.
